Although this organization has members who are University of Virginia students and may have University employees associated or engaged in its activities and affairs, the organization is not a part of or an agency of the University. It is a separate and independent organization that is responsible for and manages its own activities and affairs. The University does not direct, supervise or control the organization and is not responsible for the organization’s contracts, acts or omissions.
Lena Lin is a fourth-year student double majoring in Statistics and Commerce at Mcintire with concentrations in Accounting and Information Technology. She interned at Cohnreznick for the summer of 2019 as a Government Contracting consulting and assurance intern.
Anna Lee is a third-year student at McIntire School of Commerce studying Accounting. She looks forward to contacting employers to invite them to be part of our exclusive network of ASM members as well as alumni.
Leanne Musa is a third year at McIntire studying Accounting and IT. Next summer, she will be a tax intern with Deloitte in the McLean office. She looks forward to getting to know new and existing ASM members and keeping them updated on all things accounting at UVA.
Yuqing Weng is a fourth year student majoring in Accounting and Economics. She interned with EY this past summer as a Financial Services Assurance intern. She is primarily responsible with overseeing all the financial activities, which include operations related expenses and funding for ASM.
Austin Cox in a second year student on the pre-comm track in the College of Arts and Sciences. Next summer, he will be interning with PwC as a START intern in their New York office. He is looking forward this year to reaching out to new members and helping to grow their network.
Andrew Song is a first-year student in the College of Arts and Sciences on the pre-comm track. He looks forward to engaging with students and keeping them up to date with opportunities to help them find the right employer for their future careers.
Professor McDermott was a faculty member at Georgetown before joining the Mcintire School. She has expertise in auditing and financial reporting; her research focuses on firms’ application of accounting standards, the quality of the resulting accounting information, and how that information is used in managers’ and investors’ decisions. In the classroom, Professor McDermott is passionate about developing her students into mindful, emotionally intelligent leaders.
